Pilates is a gentle form of exercise focussing on the core of the body. While controlling the core, the rest of the body can freely move without pain in a supple harmonic way.

In class we work on breath awareness, elongation through the limbs and spine, sensing, observing and control. Its about feeling the movement and understanding your body. 

 

Pilates is a complete exercise method developed by its founder, Joseph Pilates, over the course of a lifetime dedicated to improving physical and mental health. Pilates exercises the whole body through a range of mat based exercises, re-balancing muscle use throughout the entire musculoskeletal system. The exercises build the body's core strength and improve posture through a series of low repetition, low impact stretching and conditioning exercises, which develop muscles without adding bulk. 

 

I love teaching to help people be more aware of their potential and give an understanding how their body works. I believe in understanding and getting to know your body is key for more freedom and joy in movement, whether in class or every day life. I like to use imagination and creativity to help understand body connections.
