What is kambo?
Kambo is the secretion that comes from the giant tree frog "Phyllomedusa Bicolor". This frog lives in the upper parts of the amazonian Rainforest where the natives use it to gain strength, immunity, cure illnesses, aid in “hunting magic” and also to get rid of “panema” (bad luck).
The secretion is harvested usually at dawn by the tribes who sing the frog's song. The frogs are very passive and they will be tied carefully by each leg in an X shape. The first layer of secretion is then carefully scraped off and dried on a bamboo stick. The frog is never harmed and treated with care and respect as the people believe that harm the frogs will anger the animal spirits they live so closely with.
Research has shown that Kambo secretion contains short chains of amino acids, known as peptides, which have been proven to strengthen the immune system. Its is one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimicrobial and anaesthetic substances which enables Kambo to destroy microbes and viruses and heal infections.
It works as a powerful cleanser as it detoxes the liver and intestines.
This deep level of cleansing is deeply healing for the body, mind and spirit. Which makes Kambo very effective for any physical and emotional disorders.
What are the effects?
Immediate and short term effect can include enhanced mood, alertness, clarity, focus, energy, calmness and resistance to stress.
In the longer terms, Kambo strengthens the immune system, improving the body’s defence systems so that existing health problems are improved.
On a spiritual level, Kambo helps to overcome obstacles and releases blockages on an emotional level. It clears our energy field and realigns the chakras so we can break negative habits and be more in touch with our true self.
What will you experience during Kambo?
Small points will be burned with a hot stick onto the skin, to expose the epidermis. The Kambo is mixed with a little water and made into small dots to be places on the points. The amount of points varies for each individual and the practitioner will decide the right amount of points for your treatment.
Kambo, ones applied, will then travel straights into and through the lymphatic system scanning the body for problems.
You will experience quite fast a warm flush and increased heart rate. Different reactions can occur at this point, dizziness, light headed, feeling spaced out, swelling in face and lips, skin tingling and fainting. These are not guaranteed but if they do occur are nothing to worry about and they will pass. Your blood pressure will then drop and soon you will begin purging out the toxins. The purging can cleanse on both a physical and emotional level. It is always recommended to come with an intention to work with as this can help with focus during the treatment.
Kambo is not psychoactive and nor produces hallucinations, but can bring a short altered state of reality in some people and many people receive insights; Kambo's medicine washes away an negative physical and mental energies which unable us a balanced and peaceful life.
Afterwards you can feel from great to wiped out, so its best to give yourself a few hours of rest and after a good nights sleep you can really start to feel the benefits.
